Scott: thanks for reminding me of that additional point in Feingold’s favor. He may be unpredictable, but there’s a certain consistent moral logic that underlies his positions, I think, and that’s admirable, if sometimes frustrating.

One of the ways I try to gauge the national mood is by reading comment threads on Fark, which is not all that edifying, but is nevertheless one of the few places I’ve found where pointy-headed liberals and frothing-at-the-mouth fundies coexist. Lately a few of the Bushiest Bushies have admitted that the president is treading on thin ice. Which begs the question: What does he have to do to actually fall through–kill someone with his bare hands on national television?
