What's a lynxpoint?

Lynxpoint is one of the color variations of Siamese cats. The American cat fancy does not recognize lynxpoints (or flamepoints, or anything except seal, chocolate, blue, and lilac) as Siamese and refers to these variants as "colorpoint shorthairs" instead, but anyone who has ever met one knows that these really are Siamese cats. (In the UK, they're known as tabby point Siamese, which is perhaps more appropriate because they look like a cross between a tabby cat and a Siamese—which may be how they started out.

All Siamese cats are wonderful companions. I recommend adopting two or three from Siamese Rescue. Of course, all cats are wonderful, and I recommend adopting some from your local shelter, too.
